The two leaders expressed their satisfaction with the development of Jordanian-Qatari relations, emphasizing the importance of activating the Joint Higher Committee to enhance bilateral cooperation and serve Arab issues, according to the Qatar News Agency. The King of Jordan praised the visit, noting that it would contribute to strengthening fruitful cooperation between the two countries. The leaders also called for political solutions to regional crises to ensure security and stability, while affirming support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and Lebanon.
At the conclusion of the visit, King Abdullah II awarded Sheikh Tamim the Hussein bin Ali Collar, in appreciation of his role in enhancing fraternal relations and confirming the strength of the partnership between Jordan and Qatar. Al-Ansari stated, “Sheikh Tamim discussed with Rubio the Israeli attack on Doha and the war,” emphasizing that Qatar’s relationship with the United States is strategic, especially on the defense level.
Al-Ansari asserted Doha’s determination to defend its sovereignty and take measures to prevent any future attacks, clarifying that the message to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is that violating international law without repercussions will not continue. Regarding Washington’s knowledge of the attack 50 minutes in advance, he explained, “We do not deal with media reports and communicate directly with America.”
On the indirect negotiations between the Islamic Resistance Movement (), Al-Ansari said the negotiations do not seem realistic now because Netanyahu wants to assassinate anyone who negotiates with him and bombs the mediating state. Israel continues its war on the Gaza Strip since October 2023, which has resulted in about 64,000 Palestinian deaths and approximately 163,000 injuries. It also conducts repeated airstrikes on several countries in the region, notably Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, and Qatar, in addition to its 12-day war on Iran.
