This came during a joint meeting between Kharabsheh and his Lebanese counterpart Joseph Al-Sade, where he emphasized the deep historical relations between Jordan and Lebanon, as reported by the Jordanian news agency “Petra” on Wednesday.
Kharabsheh stated, “Jordan is ready to supply Lebanon with part of its electricity needs as soon as the readiness of other parties is complete,” noting that the interconnection lines from Jordan’s side are fully ready.
The agency pointed out that “both sides discussed the possibility of delivering natural gas through the Arab Gas Pipeline to Lebanon,” indicating that this would contribute to enhancing the mutual cooperation between the two countries.
Jordan had announced its intention to supply electricity through Syria, amid the energy crisis and the economic and political challenges facing Beirut.
