The government of Kazakhstan stated in a declaration that its expected accession to the Abraham Accords represents a natural and logical continuation of Kazakhstan’s foreign policy, which is based on dialogue, mutual respect, and regional stability.
American media reported on Thursday that Kazakhstan, which has had diplomatic relations with Israel since 1992, will be the next country to sign the Abraham Accords. The Central Asian country has an embassy in Tel Aviv, making Kazakhstan’s accession to the accords a symbolic step, according to the ‘Times of Israel’.
An official stated, ‘This will show that the Abraham Accords is a club that many countries wish to join, and it will be a step towards turning the page on the Gaza War and moving forward towards more peace and cooperation in the region.’
The Abraham Accords include Arab and Islamic countries that normalized their relations with Israel, mediated by U.S. President Donald Trump at the end of his first term in 2020, including the United Arab Emirates, the Kingdom of Bahrain, Sudan, and Morocco.
The U.S. Special Envoy for the Middle East, Steve Witkoff, announced today, Thursday, during a speech at the American Business Forum in Miami, Florida, ‘I will return to Washington this evening… because we will announce tonight the accession of another country to the Abraham Accords.’
