The Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior stated on Friday that no circular has been issued permitting violators of certain residency permits to amend their status.
According to the revised Article 22, residents in Kuwait can sponsor family members if they meet specific conditions, such as having a minimum income.
The Ministry clarified that no decisions have been made regarding those who breached the “join a sponsor” residency permit. “Reports in some media and on social media are completely inaccurate,” they emphasized.

The authority stressed that any decisions or circulars from the Ministry of Interior will be communicated only through official channels, urging the public to confirm information before sharing news and to trust statements from the Ministry’s official platforms only.
Last month, legal actions were taken against violators under Article (22) – Family Sponsorship, resulting in the deportation of both violators and sponsors.
