Lone Pakistani Fan Among a Sea of Indian Supporters
Amidst the bustling crowd at Dubai Stadium, one sight stood out—a lone Pakistani fan among hundreds of Indian supporters waiting to enter. Maryam, who had flown in from Karachi specifically for this match, was noticeable in her green jersey.
“It’s a bit embarrassing; I’m the only Pakistani here among all these fans. I can’t spot another person in a green jersey,” remarked Maryam, who also attended the India-Pakistan clash at the 2024 T20 World Cup in New York.
“I came from Pakistan. I always travel for India-Pakistan matches.
“It’s wonderful to see all the Indian fans here and how warmly they greeted me. We are all happy here. You know, it’s the governments that create problems, not the people.
“But anyway, I’m here for my team and cricket. I love this sport and hope both teams give a great performance today.”
