Michael Jackson has made a triumphant return to the charts, reaffirming his title as the King of Pop.
His iconic album Thriller has climbed to the No. 10 spot following the 2025 Halloween season. This achievement further solidifies Michael Jackson’s musical legacy, making him the first artist to have top 10 hits in six different decades—1970s, 80s, 90s, 2000s, 2010s, and now the 2020s, as reported by Billboard.
Jumping from No. 32, the song has surged to No. 10 on the Billboard Hot 100, setting a new benchmark for chart longevity.
In surpassing Andy Williams, Jackson now holds top 10 positions across six decades, a record Williams held in five.
Michael Jackson first broke into the Hot 100 top 10 in November 1971 with Got to Be There. Throughout his illustrious career, he amassed 30 top 10 hits, with 13 reaching No. 1.
Before this Thriller milestone, his last top 10 appearance was posthumous, featuring on Drake’s Don’t Matter to Me in 2018.
This unexpected resurgence coincides with the upcoming release of the Antoine Fuqua-directed biopic, Michael, set to premiere on April 24, 2026. The film will delve into the life of the superstar, providing an intimate glimpse into his ascent to the King of Pop and his enduring musical influence.
Michael stars Jaafar Jackson, Michael’s nephew, delivering a powerful portrayal of the legendary icon who transformed music and dance.
The film also features notable performances by Miles Teller, Larenz Tate, and Laura Harrier.
Produced by Graham King, John Branca, and John McLain, Michael promises to be a cinematic homage to an artist whose legacy continues to inspire millions globally.
