In a statement today via its Telegram account, the office strongly condemned “the Israeli occupation’s targeting, killing, and systematic assassination of Palestinian journalists.” It called on the International Federation of Journalists, the Arab Journalists’ Union, and all media bodies worldwide to denounce these systematic crimes against journalists and media professionals.
The office also demanded that the international community, international organizations, and entities concerned with journalism and media in all countries condemn these crimes, deter them, and pursue them in international courts for their ongoing crimes, bringing the perpetrators to justice.
Simultaneously, it urged serious and effective pressure to stop the genocide and protect journalists and media professionals in Gaza, and to end their killing and assassination.
According to the agreement, the movement released 20 individuals who had survived since the events of October 7, 2023, in exchange for Israel’s release of about 2,000 Palestinian detainees from Gaza, including some serving long sentences.
