The Ministry of Energy stated in an official statement that the bus, which was carrying oil facility guards and several workers, was targeted while passing on the road between the cities of Al-Mayadin. The ministry condemned this “cowardly terrorist attack,” affirming that it will not deter workers in the oil sector from continuing their national duty to protect vital facilities and support the continuity of production. The ministry considered such attacks as desperate attempts to hinder the efforts of rebuilding and rehabilitating the energy sector’s infrastructure. The ministry expressed “its deepest condolences to the families of the martyrs,” wishing “a speedy recovery for the injured.”
