The official website of the Saudi Al Hilal Club announced on Wednesday evening that Mitrovic has reached a preliminary agreement to join one of the Qatari league clubs. Al Hilal informed the player of their consent for his transfer to the Qatari team Al Rayyan this summer. Mitrovic has been excluded from Al Hilal’s domestic squad for the new season, and he had previously been absent from the Saudi team recently, missing the FIFA Club World Cup due to injury.
The 30-year-old player transferred to Al Hilal in the summer of 2023 from Fulham for 52 million euros. Mitrovic participated in 79 matches with Al Hilal, scoring 68 goals and assisting 15 others. He also won the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques Cup.
The Saudi Al Hilal Club has signed Uruguayan striker Darwin Nunez from Liverpool, in a deal that boosts the team’s ambitions for the new football season. The club published a promotional video on their official “X” platform account on the ninth of last month, featuring the comment: “A blue tiger in the lair of Al Hilal,” indicating Nunez’s joining the team.
The deal came after intense negotiations between Al Hilal’s management and Liverpool, successfully securing the 26-year-old striker to strengthen their attacking line. The club has not yet officially disclosed the financial value or the duration of the contract.
Nunez is the fourth signing for Al Hilal this transfer period, following the addition of French left-back Theo Hernandez from AC Milan, defender Ali Lajami from Saudi Al-Nassr, and winger Abdul Karim Darcy from Saudi Al-Ahli.
