Modi, in his remarks during a speech in the city of Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh, stated that the production of BrahMos missiles will now take place in the city of Lucknow in Uttar Pradesh, according to India News Stream. He noted that merely mentioning the name ‘BrahMos’ prevents Pakistan from sleeping, asserting that it will be an effective weapon against any future threats.
Modi also highlighted India’s strength, citing Operation Sindhur as proof of the effectiveness of air defenses, missiles, and drones. He affirmed that these achievements reflect India’s progress towards self-sufficiency, enhancing its status on the international stage.
In May, Pakistani security sources announced to local Geo TV that the Pakistani armed forces had commenced a large-scale military operation against India, described as a ‘direct response to ongoing provocations from the Indian side.’ The sources confirmed that the operation includes focused military strikes, without disclosing additional details on the targets or areas involved.
This escalation comes amid heightened tensions between the two countries, following an attack on April 22 near the city of Pahalgam in the Jammu and Kashmir region, which resulted in the deaths of 25 Indians and a Nepali citizen. New Delhi accused the Pakistani intelligence of involvement in the attack, which Islamabad vehemently denied.
The Pakistani Prime Minister reiterated his country’s denial of any connection to the attack, asserting that the Indian accusations are ‘baseless and aim to escalate political and media tensions.’
