The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has initiated legal and administrative measures against over 5,400 businesses for breaching labor laws in the first half of 2025. Depending on the gravity of these breaches, some cases have been referred to the Public Prosecution. Violations include unpaid wages, involvement in ‘Fake Emiratisation’ practices, operating outside licensed activities, and registering workers without valid employment contracts.

This crackdown followed approximately 285,000 inspections of registered businesses, as part of MoHRE’s continuous efforts to regulate the labor market and enhance its competitiveness and efficiency.

MoHRE reported that violations were uncovered through a mix of field inspections and digital monitoring systems, offering detailed insights into each business’s compliance status.
