MoHRE Launches AI System ‘Eye’ for Work Permits

The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has introduced ‘Eye’, an AI-driven system that automates work permit applications, minimizing the need for human involvement except in rare cases.

This advanced system employs an AI Agent to validate documents such as personal photos, passports, and academic certificates, ensuring their precision and authenticity. By automatically analyzing and cross-referencing data, it streamlines administrative tasks, speeds up approvals, and reduces human errors.

MoHRE revealed this system at Gitex Global 2025, highlighting it as a significant advancement in integrating AI into government services.

MoHRE currently offers 13 different work permits for establishments registered with the Ministry, based on the job type. These permits are mandatory for anyone wishing to work in the UAE.

According to UAE Labour Law, it is unlawful for an individual to work in the UAE without a valid MoHRE-issued work permit. Similarly, employers must not hire workers without obtaining the required permit.

Applicants must provide several documents, including a passport with at least six months of validity, passport-sized photos, an entry permit, a copy of the employment contract, and attested educational certificates if necessary. Additional requirements include medical screening results and company documentation from the employer, such as a valid trade license and establishment card.

By incorporating AI into this process, MoHRE aims to enhance the speed, accuracy, and efficiency of document verification and permit issuance, aligning with the UAE’s broader initiative toward smart government services.
