The decision was made based on a precise scientific assessment of the available data concerning the substance (TPO), which is used as a “photoinitiator” in some types of nail polish and “gel” products that harden under ultraviolet light, according to the Hiba Press website.

The Moroccan agency issued a memorandum to workers in the health and beauty sectors, as well as to consumers, confirming the ban on the use of nail polish and “gel” products containing (TPO).

This measure is part of the agency’s efforts to enhance public safety, emphasizing the importance of awareness regarding the risks of substances used in beauty products.

This step is part of ongoing efforts to ensure compliance with international health standards.
