The ministry clarified in an official statement that the summer season of 2025 witnessed a significant influx, with 4.6 million tourists visiting during July and August, marking a growth of 6% compared to the same period last year, according to the Moroccan site ‘Anfas’. The ministry affirmed that these results enhance the strong dynamics of the tourism sector in Morocco. The summer season also saw a notable return of Moroccans residing abroad, with 3 million visitors, an increase of 13% from the previous year, highlighting their close ties to their homeland, alongside the increasing attractiveness of Morocco as a tourist destination for foreign visitors.

Moroccan King Mohammed VI, in a speech to his people at the end of July, on the occasion of the 26th anniversary of the ‘Throne Day’, stated that the achievements in Morocco are not coincidental but the result of a long-term vision and major developmental choices, alongside the security and institutional stability the country enjoys. King Mohammed VI also confirmed that Morocco today possesses modern infrastructure meeting international standards, pointing to the launch of the high-speed train line extension between Kenitra and Marrakech, as well as strategic projects to enhance water and food security and energy sovereignty.

In this context, he affirmed that Morocco has made tangible achievements in human development in recent years, highlighting the decrease in the rate of multidimensional poverty from 11.9% in 2014 to 6.8% in 2024, and the country surpassing the threshold of the Human Development Index to be classified among countries with ‘high human development’. He stressed the need for a qualitative leap in comprehensive territorial qualification and addressing social and regional disparities, calling for ‘the adoption of an integrated developmental approach to ensure the fruits of progress reach all citizens without discrimination’.
