The Moscow City website reported that the festival events will take place at the Sheikh Jaber Al Ahmad Cultural Center and the Avenues Mall, showcasing the city’s rich heritage, modern landmarks, and various cultural activities. The festival will feature a grand concert by the Moscow State Symphony Orchestra, conducted by the world-renowned maestro Ivan Rudin, at the Sheikh Jaber Cultural Center on September 27. The orchestra will perform two masterpieces of Russian classical music: “Scheherazade” by Rimsky-Korsakov, a captivating work that blends enchanting violin melodies with rich orchestral arrangements, and “The Firebird” by Stravinsky, a legendary ballet combining Russian folklore and musical innovation.
Guests at the festival in the Avenues Mall, one of the largest shopping centers in the Middle East, will witness performances by creative groups and visit a photo exhibition to learn about the landmarks of the Russian capital, its distinctive roads, relaxation spots, exhibitions, and various activities. In this context, Yevgeny Kozlov stated, “Kuwaitis are increasingly discovering Moscow as a distinctive tourist destination. In 2024, Moscow received about 16,500 visitors from Kuwait, a tenfold increase compared to 2019, reflecting Moscow’s ability to blend rich heritage with modern luxury and the festival, representing a true cultural bridge and an invitation to discover the Russian capital up close.”
The idea for the festival originated during a business session by “Mostourism” in Kuwait, where ways to enhance local audience interest in Moscow were discussed. The festival will further promote Moscow in this region and increase tourism flow. In 2024, the number of flights from Kuwait rose by 2.9 compared to 2023, with 97% of the trips for tourism purposes.
