According to the government statement published by the Cabinet today, Wednesday, the project will be established within the “TEDA Egypt” industrial developer zone in the Ain Sokhna integrated area under the General Authority for the Economic Zone. It will cover an area of 350,000 square meters and will be implemented in three phases over three years.
The first phase is expected to have a production capacity of around 3 million passenger car tires and 600,000 truck and bus tires, with completion targeted by 2026.
The Egyptian government anticipates that the total production capacity of the factory, upon completion of all phases, will exceed 10 million tires annually to meet local market demands and export the surplus.
The statement noted that “Sailun” is one of the largest global companies in tire manufacturing, with factories in China and Vietnam. The new factory in Egypt is expected to form a strategic regional base for production and distribution in Middle Eastern and African markets.
