Manager Eddie Howe shared that Newcastle United is still adjusting to life without Alexander Isak after the striker’s move to Liverpool. He urged patience as the team’s revamped attack struggles to find its rhythm.

Newcastle’s 0-0 draw against Bournemouth on Sunday marked their third consecutive goalless Premier League away draw, extending their winless streak on the road this season.

Although Howe appreciated the third straight clean sheet in the league, the team has only netted three goals in five matches, placing them 13th with merely six points.

“Three 0-0 results away are unusual for us given our attacking approach,” Howe mentioned to reporters. “Naturally, our attack will differ this year without Alex.

“I hope we’re evolving into a different, hopefully better, team, but this transition might take some time.”

Following Isak’s record transfer to the Premier League champions, Newcastle is counting on club-record signing Nick Woltemade to lead their attack. Howe believes the German player has more to offer.

“Nick played exceptionally well today,” Howe commented. “His footwork and link play were very effective.

“We need to familiarize ourselves with his style more and get more players running off him since he’s excellent in that regard.”

Newcastle will next face English third-tier side Bradford City in the League Cup second round on Wednesday.
