No Resignation for Israeli Chief Amid Battle

Awad ruled out the “resignation of Chief of Staff Eyal Zamir at the peak of the battle, despite his clash with reality and the lack of clarity in the political level’s objectives, which conflict with the operational goals of the Israeli army.” Awad clarified that “the objections within Israel do not constitute enough pressure to deter Netanyahu from his extreme policies and the pursuit of force. Meanwhile, the Palestinian resistance will not surrender and will turn Gaza into a battleground, as they have nothing to lose. Rather, they bet on survival, resilience, and imposing their conditions with the prisoners’ card in this war of attrition,” stressing that “the occupier does not possess history,” and that “the right to resist and self-determination is an inalienable right.”
