Nottingham Forest added to Brentford’s woes as new winger Dan Ndoye netted his first goal for the club in a 3-1 Premier League victory on Sunday.
Yoane Wissa, Brentford’s top scorer last season with 19 goals, missed the Nottingham match amid uncertainties about his future. Bryan Mbeumo, last season’s leading scorer, transferred to Manchester United last month.
Keith Andrews, who stepped into his inaugural managerial role at Brentford after Thomas Frank’s move to Tottenham Hotspur, witnessed his team being dominated from the start. Chris Wood’s first-half double, combined with Ndoye’s goal, secured Forest a commanding 3-0 lead at halftime.
Brentford couldn’t stage a comeback in the second half, with Igor Thiago’s penalty in the 78th minute being their only consolation.
Forest manager Nuno Espirito Santo is preparing to incorporate two new signings, James McAtee and Omari Hutchinson, who were introduced before the match.
