This step comes as part of the efforts by the Public Authority for Special Economic Zones and Free Zones in Oman to enhance the competitiveness of the special economic zones, free zones, and industrial cities under its supervision, according to the Oman News Agency. It also aims to open new horizons for promoting these areas internationally as investment destinations characterized by flexibility, readiness, and advanced infrastructure, in addition to enhancing the international presence of these zones in the Sultanate.
Moreover, it seeks to provide more opportunities for exchanging expertise and finding best practices with a select group of international partners, contributing to raising the efficiency of the work system, and developing promotional and marketing tools to support efforts in attracting quality investments and high value-added projects.
The Omani economy has achieved positive growth in recent years, thanks to efforts in economic diversification, enhancing non-oil revenues, and expanding the productive base of the economy. This has contributed to supporting the growth of the Gross Domestic Product and attracting more investments and stimulating the private sector.
