The Pakistani newspaper ‘Dawn’ reported this on Tuesday, highlighting a statement by Pakistan’s Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi during a press conference at the incident site. He stated that the explosion occurred at noon today and confirmed that the incident was a ‘suicide attack.’ The injured are receiving medical care under the direct supervision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Naqvi said, ‘The attacker tried to enter the courthouse for 12 minutes before blowing himself up near a police vehicle after failing to enter.’ He continued, ‘Identifying the perpetrator is a top priority,’ promising to reveal it within hours.

The minister confirmed that investigations are currently moving in all directions because it is not a random incident, as he described it. He added, ‘The army, guard forces, and police are working to ensure the security of ongoing international events in the capital.’

According to the newspaper, the spokesman for the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences, Dr. Mubashir Duha, confirmed the number of 30 people in an official statement. In tweets on the platform ‘X,’ Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari expressed his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for the injured, while Defense Minister Khawaja Asif described the attack as a ‘wake-up call’ and stated that Pakistan is in a state of war.
