According to Pakistan’s ‘Dawn’, Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif stated today, Thursday, on the second day of the truce with Afghanistan, that if the Taliban government wants the truce to continue, the ball is in their court, as he described it.
The United Nations has called on both parties of the conflict to establish a permanent ceasefire and protect civilians, especially since these bloody clashes are the most violent between the two neighboring countries since 2021, after the Taliban took power in the country and the withdrawal of the United States and NATO from it.
Pakistan claims that Afghanistan harbors militants opposed to it, which the Taliban denies.
