Prime Video is offering fans a final glimpse of summer excitement. The streaming leader revealed on Wednesday that its popular coming-of-age series, The Summer I Turned Pretty, will conclude not with another season but with a feature film.

Jenny Han, the author of the bestselling trilogy that inspired the series, will return to both write and direct the film. This project is described as an extension of the global franchise and the conclusive end to the protagonist Isabel “Belly” Conklin’s story.

“There is a significant milestone left in Belly’s journey, and I believed only a movie could do it justice,” Han stated, expressing gratitude to Prime Video for supporting her vision and aiding in sharing the finale with fans.

From Series Finale to Cinematic Farewell

The announcement came just as the show’s third and final season debuted in the US and UK, positioning Belly (Lola Tung) amidst her enduring love triangle with brothers Jeremiah (her ex-fiancé) and Conrad. While specific plot details of the film remain a secret, Prime Video confirmed the movie will conclude Belly’s emotional journey.

The reveal occurred in Paris during the Season 3 premiere event, where stars Lola Tung and Christopher Briney (Conrad) graced the red carpet before a billboard unveiling the film.

Since its 2022 debut, The Summer I Turned Pretty has become one of Prime Video’s top-viewed and most-discussed series, igniting passionate online debates between Team Conrad and Team Jeremiah fans.
