Palestine Values Russia’s Support Amid Gaza Conflict

In an interview today, Sunday, he added that Palestine highly appreciates Russia’s position, both governmental and popular, in supporting Palestine in all fields and international forums. He emphasized the historical relations between Russia and Palestine since the beginning of the issue and the continuous and ongoing support for the two-state solution, expressing hope for increased pressure from Moscow on Israel to stop the war on Gaza and to solidify the two-state solution.

The Palestinian minister explained that Russia will have a significant role in the coming stage concerning political solutions for the Palestinian issue, stopping the war on Gaza, and establishing the Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital.

Earlier, Sergey Vershinin announced that peace and security in the Middle East cannot be achieved without a peaceful resolution to the Palestinian issue and the principle of the “two-state solution.”

Israel resumed its bombing of the Gaza Strip on March 18th after a nearly two-month cessation, specifically since the ceasefire agreement with the “Hamas” movement came into effect on January 19th, following stalled talks to extend the first phase of the agreement or transition to its second phase.

The ceasefire agreement was supposed to continue if the first phase was extended, which ended on March 1st, or if they entered its second phase, but disagreements between Israel and Hamas over the next steps prevented this.
