Peace Summit for Gaza War Resolution

In his message, Zamir stated that “The disaster of October 7, 2023, dealt a blow to the trust between the army and the citizens, but from this fracture, a generation of fighters emerged who turned that day into a turning point.” He affirmed that “the two main objectives throughout the war were to return the hostages and defeat ‘Hamas,’ emphasizing that ‘releasing the hostages was a sacred duty imposed by the army’s commitment to its soldiers and the citizens of the state.’

The Israeli Chief of Staff, Eyal Zamir, pointed to military achievements that he claimed led the army to ‘complete operational control over the entire Gaza Strip,’ and the forces reshaped ‘the face of the Middle East,’ as well as Israel’s security concept and its strategy for defense and deterrence in the coming years.

Zamir stressed the ‘need to learn lessons from past failures and events,’ expressing ‘respect for the price that was paid,’ and affirming ‘the army’s commitment to being worthy of the sacrifices.’

The Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh will host a peace summit on ending the war in the Gaza Strip tomorrow, Monday, co-chaired by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and American President Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders from more than 20 countries, as announced by the Egyptian presidency.

The Egyptian presidency stated on Saturday: ‘An international summit entitled “Sharm El Sheikh Peace Summit” will be held in Sharm El Sheikh tomorrow afternoon, Monday, October 13, 2025, co-chaired by President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and American President Donald Trump, with the participation of leaders from more than twenty countries.’

The first phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip came into effect last Friday afternoon, which concluded indirect negotiations between Hamas and Israel, hosted by the Egyptian city of Sharm El Sheikh last week, mediated by Egypt, Qatar, the United States, and Turkey, based on a proposal by American President Donald Trump to end the war in Gaza, with Hamas and Israel signing the arrangements for its first phase.

Hamas announced the withdrawal of the occupation from it, the entry of aid, and the exchange of prisoners, urging the guarantor parties to oblige the Israeli government to fully implement the agreement’s entitlements.

American President Donald Trump announced that he will visit the Middle East this week on a tour that includes Israel and Egypt to participate in the celebration of the official signing of the war cessation agreement in the Gaza Strip.

Trump revealed on September 29, during a press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a plan to end the ongoing war for about two years between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip.
