Peskov on Moscow’s Expectations for Upcoming Summit

When asked what Moscow expects from the upcoming summit, Peskov told reporters: “The first thing is to move towards a peaceful settlement of the Ukrainian conflict.” Peskov clarified that “there is still much work to be done,” noting that details of the next meeting have not yet been disclosed.

Peskov pointed out that “Russia’s position and President Putin’s stance on the Ukrainian settlement are firm and well-known.” He explained that “we see very contradictory statements coming from Kyiv. We see that the position of the Kyiv regime is full of contradictions, and all this, of course, does not contribute to the peace process.”

He noted the close relations between US President Donald Trump and Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, as well as the constructive relations between Russian President Vladimir Putin and Orbán.
