This came according to a statement by “Hamas” on Thursday, in which it said that the Hamas delegation was led by Khalil al-Hayya, the head of the movement in Gaza. The statement noted that the meeting reviewed the developments of the Israeli war on the Gaza Strip, ongoing since October 2023.
The statement also explained that the two sides discussed what it described as “imminent dangers and attempts to eliminate them, especially regarding Israel’s plan to annex the West Bank and divide the Al-Aqsa Mosque.”
The statement highlighted Abbas Araqchi’s confirmation of Tehran’s steadfast position supporting the Palestinian cause, and his assertion that “Israel is the enemy of the Islamic nation and humanity.” From October 7, 2023, until September 2, the attacks on Gaza have resulted in the death of about 64,000 Palestinians, in addition to approximately 161,000 injured, according to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza.
