The Emir of Qatar said: “We are pleased with the positive outcomes of the Sharm el-Sheikh Peace Summit.” He added: “We hope that the Sharm el-Sheikh Summit will contribute to reaching a comprehensive, just, and sustainable solution to the Palestinian issue. We look forward to all parties committing to the mutual understanding achieved for the benefit of everyone.”
The Peace Summit in Sharm el-Sheikh commenced today, Monday, under the presidency and participation of leaders from about 20 countries. It was described as a historic moment by Egyptian media, commenting on the signing of the ceasefire agreement in Gaza, which led to the end of the longest war experienced by the Gaza Strip.
Earlier on Monday, the American President arrived in Sharm el-Sheikh, where he co-chaired the Gaza Peace Summit alongside the Egyptian President. He arrived in Egypt three hours later than his announced schedule, coming from Israel after a visit that lasted less than six hours, during which he delivered a speech before the Knesset, speaking about the end of the “painful nightmare” for Israelis and Palestinians.
