The Prime Minister wrote on his social media page ‘X’ that ‘people have the right to peaceful protest, which is at the core of our country’s values, but we will not tolerate attacks on police officers while performing their duties, nor people being afraid to go out due to their backgrounds or skin color.’ As the Prime Minister says, ‘Britain is a nation built on tolerance, diversity, and respect.’

Participants in the ‘Unite the Kingdom’ march, led by right-wing activist Tommy Robinson, gathered at Russell Square on Saturday and marched towards the government district in Whitehall. Many of them carried the English national flag with the Saint George’s Cross and the British flag.

The protesters chanted slogans against Prime Minister Keir Starmer, criticizing the government’s immigration policy and what they consider restrictions on freedom of expression.
