In response to a question from the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the “Russia-1” channel about his opinion on the summit, Rubio said: “Very good. It was very productive. We hope so.” The day before yesterday, on Friday, Russian President Vladimir Putin and his American counterpart Donald Trump held talks in Alaska. The presidents met at the “Elmendorf-Richardson” military base.
Participating in the meeting from the Russian side were Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Presidential Assistant Yuri Ushakov. From the American side, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and the Special Representative of the American President, Steve Whitkov, were present.
Trump, in turn, announced that the next meeting between the leaders could take place in Moscow. After the talks, the Russian President visited the cemetery where Soviet pilots, who were killed in 1943 while transporting planes via the air route between Alaska and Siberia, are buried, following his meeting with Donald Trump.
