The Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement that “Israel has no sovereignty over the occupied Palestinian territories in the West Bank,” emphasizing the kingdom’s absolute rejection and strong condemnation of the Israeli government’s continued implementation of its settlement plans and the declarations by its officials that reinforce occupation and settlement expansion. The ministry’s spokesperson, Ambassador Fuad Majali, stated that these actions and statements constitute a blatant violation of international legitimacy decisions, particularly Security Council Resolution 2334, which condemns all Israeli measures aimed at changing the demographic, legal, and geographic status of the occupied Palestinian territories since 1967, including East Jerusalem.
The statement called on the international community to assume its full responsibility, urging immediate intervention to compel Israel to halt its dangerous escalation and illegal unilateral measures, as well as the systematic oppression of the Palestinian people.
The statement concluded by affirming that the only way to achieve a just and lasting peace in the region is by enabling the Palestinian people to attain all their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of their independent state with sovereignty over its national soil.
Israeli media revealed that Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich decided to allocate a massive budget to bolster Jewish settlements in the occupied West Bank, describing this plan as a “radical shift” in the occupation government’s policy toward promoting settlement.
Additionally, the Israeli National Security Minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir, announced a new cooperative agricultural village “Kibbutz” on the settlers’ armament schedule. The Israeli Channel 7 reported on Sunday evening that Ben-Gvir’s decision includes granting settlers new licenses to carry personal firearms within 19 settlements located in the area known as “Mateh Yehuda Council” in Jerusalem.
