Putin said, “I would like to begin today with another issue of critical importance for protecting our national interests, the sovereignty of Russia, and international security in general, without any exaggeration. I am referring to the situation in the field of strategic stability.”
He added, “We are confident in the reliability and effectiveness of our national deterrent forces. However, at the same time, we are not interested in escalating tensions or fueling an arms race.”
Putin noted that the actions of the West have led to the undermining of the foundations of constructive relations between nuclear powers.
