Putin said after the Russian talks, “When studying major international issues, it is confirmed that our approach to dealing with most of them is convergent,” noting that the share of national currencies in mutual settlements already exceeds 96%.

Putin added, “Gazprom has been supplying Kazakhstani consumers with gas uninterrupted for many years and is now considering expanding gas supplies to Kazakhstan, including the northern and eastern parts of the country.”

Putin continued, “The priority in the talks was economic cooperation. Last year, the trade volume reached 28.7 billion dollars, representing one-fifth of Kazakhstan’s total foreign trade.”

Putin clarified that “For Russia, Kazakhstan is also one of the largest trade partners in the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian region as a whole.”

In the same context, Tokayev said after his talks with Putin, “In Kazakhstan, we know and respect the Russian president as a prestigious and respected global figure, and the world views him as a symbol of defending Russia and its people.”

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, on Tuesday, met with Putin and Tokayev at the Kremlin for an informal lunch.
