Qatar to Host Emergency Arab-Islamic Summit

The Qatar News Agency reported that “the State of Qatar will hold a preparatory meeting for foreign ministers for the emergency Arab-Islamic summit on Sunday, September 14. Following this, an Arab-Islamic summit will be held on September 14 and 15 to discuss the Israeli attack on the State of Qatar.” The Israeli army carried out Operation “Fiery Summit” last Tuesday, targeting senior officials in the Hamas movement. Eyewitnesses told the Sputnik Agency about a series of strong explosions in Doha. Sputnik received a statement from “Hamas,” reporting the death of six people, including the son of the movement’s leader in the Gaza Strip, Hamam Al-Hayya. The Qatari Ministry of Interior reported one death and several injuries among internal security personnel during the raids. Netanyahu’s office clarified that Israel planned and executed the operation independently to eliminate Hamas leaders and takes responsibility for it. Meanwhile, the US president made a statement saying he spoke with Netanyahu after the raids and added he is “not happy” with the Israeli airstrike on Qatar. Yesterday, on Wednesday, Russia confirmed that it considers Israel’s raid on Doha a violation of international law, urging both parties to prevent escalation.
