In Doha on Monday, Qatar’s Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, urged Hamas political leaders to “respond positively” to a new Gaza ceasefire-hostage proposal from the U.S., according to an official briefed on the discussions, as reported by Reuters.
The official stated, “The Qatari Prime Minister encouraged Hamas to react favorably to the latest American proposal, delivered through mediators, which aims to secure a ceasefire and hostage release in Gaza.”
On Sunday, Hamas acknowledged receiving some ideas from the U.S. regarding a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and mentioned ongoing discussions with mediators to further develop these ideas.
