On Friday, September 5, residents in parts of the UAE should prepare for rain as the country experiences changing weather patterns.
The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) reports that rain is likely in some eastern and western areas due to convective cloud formation.
The UAE is currently influenced by an extension of low-pressure systems both at the surface and upper levels from the south, alongside the northward movement of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) towards the Emirates.

This situation results in moist air masses flowing from the Arabian Sea and the Sea of Oman into the country, as stated by the NCM. Convective clouds are anticipated to form, bringing varying intensities of rain, occasional lightning, thunder, and small hail.
Dubai experienced hail, thunder, and heavy rain on Wednesday, while on Thursday, some rain affected motorists in certain areas of Dubai. The NCM issued yellow and orange alerts, advising residents to remain cautious during hazardous weather and outdoor activities.
Otherwise, the weather will be fair to partly cloudy, becoming cloudy by night and Saturday morning in the north and east.
Light to moderate southeasterly to northeasterly winds are expected, occasionally fresh to strong, causing dust and sand to blow at speeds of 10-25 km/hr, reaching up to 45 km/hr.
The sea conditions will be slight to moderate in the Arabian Gulf and slight in the Oman Sea.
In Dubai, temperatures will peak at 43ºC and drop to 31ºC. Sharjah will see highs of 43ºC and lows of 29ºC. Abu Dhabi will have temperatures ranging from 44ºC to 29ºC.
The maximum temperature recorded in the UAE on Thursday, September 4, was 47.1°C in Hamim (Al Dhafra region) at 4pm, while the lowest was 22.9°C in Jais Mountain (Ras Al Khaimah) at 2.30am.
