According to reports, this aircraft will be able to cover the distance between London and New York in less than three hours, as reported by British media. The plane, which will not see the light of day until 2049 according to the site ‘Globetrender’, is designed to be a revolution in global tourism, with a spacious cabin equipped with the latest aviation entertainment systems. China aims to reduce the aircraft noise to a level of 83.9 decibels, equivalent to the sound of a household hairdryer, to ensure a comfortable and quiet experience. The ‘C949’, according to the ‘South China Morning Post’, aims to compete with supersonic aircraft projects being developed by agencies like NASA and Lockheed Martin.
In a related context, the Spanish aircraft ‘A-HyM’ (Air Master) stands out as a strong competitor, claiming the ability to reduce flight time to just 45 minutes, at speeds reaching 7.3 Mach (over 9000 km/h). The Spanish plane, which accommodates 170 passengers and flies at an altitude of 30,000 meters, relies on advanced materials such as titanium and carbon fiber to withstand temperatures up to 1000 degrees Celsius.
It features innovative technology to mitigate the sonic boom, allowing it to fly over land without disturbance. The ‘A-HyM’ is powered by an advanced hydrogen engine that combines jet turbine, ramjet, and oblique detonation techniques, making it not only supersonic but also environmentally advanced.
