The African exhibition is set to feature participation from 75 countries and over 2000 exhibitors who will present their products and goods. It was emphasized that there is a need to transition from promises to achievements in establishing a foundation, highlighting that the current period is critical and precarious. This necessitates the African continent to exploit all its material, human, and even technological resources, underscoring the importance of African-African cooperation and partnerships, which Algeria aims to pursue.
Rabij believes that Algeria is keen for this exhibition to be an opportunity to achieve commercial and economic agreements that could pave the way for political and diplomatic agreements and possibly establish African-African companies. Previously, Amin Boutalebi, head of the Arab-African Center for Investment and Development and Ambassador, stated that Africa will witness a significant, large, and diverse economic event represented in the fourth edition of the Intra-African Trade Fair (IATF 2025), to be hosted by Algeria.
He added in his conversation with “Sputnik” that the event will see a massive presence of presidents and officials from different countries of the world, and the ambition of the (African Export-Import) bank is to sign agreements worth 44 billion dollars, involving significant and qualitative agreements that contribute to building Africa and will aid in development within African countries.
He explained that the exhibition seeks to enhance South-South cooperation, trade exchange, and investment opportunities in crucial sectors, especially since the exhibition will be an ideal event full of opportunities and expectations for signing agreements and will witness qualitative participation. It will also provide opportunities to learn about the strategies and visions of African countries until 2063.
Boutalebi pointed out that Algeria has a significant precedent in hosting such large events and has taken practical steps to enhance African economic integration, such as opening new air routes to Africa (six new air routes) and also opening new sea lines to Mauritania, Senegal, Ivory Coast, Libya, and Egypt. Additionally, it is striving to establish a railway line to Mali and construct a road between Tindouf and Zouerate.
The event is expected to host more than 10 heads of state and over 96 ministers from various sectors such as finance, trade, industry, environment, and mines, according to the speaker.
