In the UAE, Roblox users will temporarily lose the ability to chat within the game. This change was announced in a joint social media post by the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) and Roblox, aiming to enhance online safety for children.
The decision follows recent bans of the game in several regional countries, including Oman and Qatar.
After discussions, Roblox will disable certain communication features for UAE users, such as in-game chat functions.

Additionally, the joint statement reveals plans to improve content moderation and communication in Arabic, along with enhancing safety features and parental controls.
A regular Roblox user in the UAE told Khaleej Times he couldn’t access the chat feature. “When I logged in, it said my region/settings prevent chat access,” he explained. “After relaunching the game, the chat icon disappeared.”
TDRA and Roblox advise parents to closely monitor their children’s online activities and discuss safe gaming habits. They also encourage users to provide feedback through Roblox’s in-app reporting tools or directly to the authority.
