Lavrov said at a press conference after talks with Ethiopian Foreign Minister Gedion Timotheos: “We also discussed the fact that we now have one of the new areas of cooperation – the interaction between media outlets in Russia and Ethiopia.” He continued: “Minister Timotheos expressed his great appreciation for the work of Sputnik Agency, which is becoming increasingly popular. Its audience is expanding.” Lavrov explained: “This is, of course, pleasant because in the modern world, conveying the truth to audiences in different countries is a very important task.” Lavrov and Timotheos last met in April in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, following a meeting on the sidelines of the BRICS ministerial meeting. The Ethiopian minister then visited Moscow in September, where he exchanged a signed action plan with Alexey Likhachov, CEO of Rosatom, between the Russian state company and the Ethiopian Electric Power Corporation to develop a nuclear power plant project in the republic.
