Russia and Vietnam Discuss Nuclear Power Plant Project

Shulginov is part of the State Duma delegation, led by Vyacheslav Volodin, the Russian Parliament Speaker, who is making an official visit to Vietnam. He noted that the nuclear power plant construction project was one of the key issues discussed at the committee meeting.

Shulginov stated, “One of the main points emphasized by my colleagues and me is that we have finally returned to the idea of reviving and continuing the nuclear power plant construction project.”

The Chairman of the State Duma’s Energy Committee confirmed that “Russia has extensive experience not only in construction but also in organizing nuclear power plant safety issues.”

Russia and Vietnam are working on updating the feasibility study for Vietnam’s future first nuclear power plant, “Ninh Thuan-1.” The two parties signed a memorandum of understanding at the international forum “Global Atomic Week” in Moscow last Friday.
