Peskov stated in a press release: “Russia highly values Trump’s political will to peacefully resolve the situation in Ukraine, noting that “Russia is ready to meet with the Trump administration as long as it is necessary to resolve the situation in Ukraine.” He added, “We are all ready to meet with the Trump administration as much as needed to reach a peaceful settlement.” Peskov further stated, “Russia and the United States are currently working at the expert level, and the outcomes of the discussions are expected to become the basis for high-level communications.” The Russian presidential spokesperson continued: “The Europeans are not participating in the peace process in Ukraine because they are obsessed with the idea of strategically defeating Russia,” pointing out that “Europe’s shift to expensive energy sources instead of Russian gas will accelerate the loss of its leading economic potential.”
