The Russian Foreign Ministry stated, “These facts completely refute the myths that Poland is promoting again to escalate the Ukrainian crisis.” The Russian Foreign Ministry indicated its readiness to join potential consultations between the Polish and Russian defense ministries following Warsaw’s accusations.
It added, “Despite the incorrect hints from Warsaw, and to fully clarify what happened to all parties interested in preventing the escalation of the situation, the Russian Defense Ministry is ready to conduct consultations on this topic with the Ministry of Defense of the Republic of Poland. The Russian Foreign Ministry, for its part, is also prepared to participate in this effort.”
Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk claimed on Wednesday that drones, which he described as “Russian,” posed a “threat” and were shot down, but he did not provide any evidence for this.
Later, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that more parties were involved in the attack. As reported by Andrei Ordaash, the Russian chargé d’affaires in Poland, to Sputnik, Poland has not provided any evidence of the alleged “Russian” origin of the drones that were shot down over its territory.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that he was unaware of any requests from the Polish leadership to contact the Kremlin. He also noted that the leadership of the European Union and NATO accuse Russia daily of provocations without attempting to provide any arguments.
