The media center of the ‘Syrian Democratic Forces’ (SDF) stated in a release: ‘At exactly 3 AM on Monday, in the village of Imam belonging to the Deir Hafer area, our forces dealt with the attack and responded accordingly to defend their positions and fighters, resulting in clashes that lasted continuously for 20 minutes.’
Earlier today, local sources revealed to media outlets about the pressure exerted by Washington following recent developments that witnessed the resumption of clashes between the two parties.
This comes amid escalating tensions in the Syrian arena, especially the recent developments in Sweida and Manbij, which resulted in hundreds of deaths and injuries, while the Syrian Ministry of Defense and the SDF exchange accusations regarding the attack in the city of Manbij in northern Syria.
The ‘SANA’ agency reported that the Ministry of Defense accused the SDF of launching a rocket attack on an army site in the city’s countryside, which resulted in the injury of four army personnel and three civilians.
The SDF had signed an agreement last March to join Syrian state institutions, without specifying how to integrate the SDF forces with the Syrian army. The SDF wishes to join as a single bloc, while Damascus wants them to join as individuals.
