In an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin on ‘Russia 1’ channel, Peskov stated that the Russian side will continue to work towards finding a possibility for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine. He explained, ‘We rely on the United States and President Trump personally to make efforts to assist in this matter.’ The Russian presidential spokesperson affirmed that the West’s plans to continue confronting Russia by all means will not contribute to reaching a settlement, considering that the United Kingdom is one of the principal countries supporting the war. He continued, ‘Trump was just in the United Kingdom… The United Kingdom is one of the leaders of this pro-war camp.’ Earlier, Russian presidential spokesperson Dmitry Peskov confirmed that communication channels were established between Russia and Ukraine, and negotiators from both countries have the opportunity to communicate, noting a ‘temporary pause’ at the level of negotiation groups. Previously, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov stated that the United States understands the necessity of not arming Ukraine but addressing the root causes of the conflict.
