Russia Supports Venezuela Against External Threats

In a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, it was declared: “Lavrov expressed his solidarity with the government and people of Venezuela in the face of increasing external threats and attempts to interfere in internal affairs, as well as his full support for Caracas’s efforts to protect national sovereignty.” Earlier, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov and Venezuelan Foreign Minister Ivan Gil held a phone call. The Foreign Ministry also expressed Russia’s strong condemnation of the strike carried out by the United States against a ship in international waters near Venezuela, adding: “Russia strongly condemns the new strike executed by the U.S. Armed Forces on October 3rd against a ship in international waters near Venezuela.”
