The Russian Football Union (RFU) confirmed on its official website the organization of a friendly match between the Russian national team and the Jordanian national team on September 4, 2025. The city or stadium that will host the match has not yet been announced.
In June of last year, the Jordanian team achieved a historic milestone by qualifying for the 2026 World Cup for the first time in its history, becoming the first Arab team to secure a spot in the tournament, which will be held in the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
This match comes amid sanctions imposed on Russian teams and clubs by FIFA and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) since February 2022, due to the events in Ukraine, which have limited the Russian team to playing only friendly matches.
