In an interview with ‘Sputnik’ on the sidelines of the Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok, Peskov stated, ‘Naturally, Russia will not sell its resources at prices that are not beneficial to its national interest.’ This was in response to a question about securing Moscow’s interests in the ‘Power of Siberia-2’ gas transfer project agreement.
The head of Gazprom, Alexey Miller, announced the signing of a binding legal memorandum with the China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) regarding the construction of the ‘Power of Siberia-2’ gas pipeline and the transit line through Mongolia, ‘Union of the East.’
The project aims to transfer gas from Western Siberia fields to China via Mongolia, with expectations that the contract will last for 30 years.
The 10th Eastern Economic Forum is held from September 3 to 6 in Vladivostok, under the theme ‘The Far East – Cooperation for Peace and Prosperity,’ with extensive participation from representatives of countries and global companies.
