This was announced during “MOMENTUM,” held at the King Abdul Aziz International Conference Center in Riyadh, from December 9-11, 2025, organized by the National Development Fund. The partnership agreement provides an innovative model in development financing, valued at $40 million, with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen contributing $30 million, while the Global Partnership for Education provides $10 million, aiming to enhance the impact and expand educational interventions.
The agreement will increase access to safe and inclusive education for children in Yemen and empower girls to enroll in education, prioritizing the most needy areas, enhancing the resilience of the educational system, supporting the continuity of educational services, and improving the quality of education through teacher training and professional capacity building.
The General Supervisor of the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, Ambassador Mohammed bin Saeed Al Jaber, stressed that this support comes out of the Kingdom’s commitment to building a sustainable and inclusive educational future that contributes to Yemen’s renaissance and prosperity. The Kingdom, through the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen, has supported general and higher education as well as technical and vocational training by implementing 56 educational projects and initiatives in 11 Yemeni provinces, recognizing the importance of education in achieving comprehensive development. This is part of 268 projects and development initiatives provided by the program across 8 essential and vital sectors: health, water, energy, transport, education, agriculture and fisheries, capacity development and support for the Yemeni government, and development programs in various Yemeni provinces.
Our partnership with the Saudi Program for the Development and Reconstruction of Yemen and our partners in Yemen confirms the power of collective action to change people’s lives even in the most difficult circumstances. Through this new partnership, we will enable children, especially girls, to access safe and high-quality educational opportunities.
