Seizure of Weapons and Drone Parts on Ship

The brigades clarified in a press statement that the operation was the result of precise monitoring and continuous tracking of the ship’s movements as it attempted to infiltrate. They confirmed that their forces conducted a comprehensive inspection of the ship, which resulted in the seizure of weapons, including an anti-armor Kornet missile, drone spare parts comprising operational units and military engines, along with precise control cables.

Eight boxes containing Iranian-made medicines, foodstuffs, and consumer goods were also found. Neither the Ansar Allah group nor any official made an immediate comment on the incident, although they have previously denied accusations of smuggling weapons into Yemen.

Earlier this month, joint forces loyal to the Yemeni government announced the seizure of drone equipment and espionage gear on a boat off the coast of Lahij Governorate, southern Yemen, overlooking the Gulf of Aden, which was headed towards areas controlled by the Ansar Allah group.

It was stated that the boat was seized off the coast of Ras al-Ara, western Lahij, and three smuggling elements onboard were arrested. The security campaign, in coordination with the specialized criminal prosecution, secured the seized items.

The shipment consists of numerous sensitive drone aviation equipment and materials, including high-precision cameras dedicated to drone reconnaissance and day and night aerial photography, wireless communication devices, remote control tools, and electronic chips.

The spokesperson mentioned that among the seized shipment were tracking devices, Global Positioning System (GPS) cards, electronic control units, integrated navigation systems for drones, high-capacity power batteries, precise electrical converters, electronic parts, mechanical components, and carbon fibers used in the operation, guidance, and manufacturing systems for drones.
